Fire Door Inspection and Report

The latest (2023) fire door regulations clarified the requirement for 'Responsible Person', a person who is in fact, accountable, and has the overall duty-of-care for fire safety - and the person who would compile the up-to-date fire safety documentation.  This is normally a building owner or someone in the management company.

Peace of mind

Our role, as qualified fire door inspectors, is to undertake inspection and reporting of fire door status and this would feed into the fire safety documentation for the building. This will give you peace of mind that the fire doors conform to the standards and that this function is properly covered.

The inspection must be done to the correct standards and includes but not limited to:

  • if there has been any alterations or damage to a door’s glazing apertures or air transfer grille

  • if there are any gaps around the door frame and that seals and hinges are fitted correctly

  • that the door closer shuts the door

  • that the door closes correctly around the whole frame

  • that there is no visible damage (either deliberate or from wear and tear) to the door or door closer
